“ikat” is of Malay-Indonesian origin and broadly broadly means fabrics made from resist-dyed threads.
A complex process where the yarn is resist dyed prior to weaving to create these beautiful and intricate patterns that are hand loomed. Preparing thread for ikat dyeing involves carefully bundling the thread and stretching it out in frames, marking the pattern on the thread, tightly wrapping the areas to resist dye, and then lining up all the threads on the loom before weaving.
We have a range of beautiful Ikat both Single and Doube Ikat loving loomed by the most skilled artisans.
Each Throw is completely unique and no throw is the same adding to the beautiful charm of this incredible craft.
